Tan Su May is a Partner in Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions. Her areas of expertise encompass mergers and acquisitions (both by way of share acquisition and business acquisition), direct investments, local and regional joint ventures and corporate administration. She also advises on employment law and general corporate issues.

Transactions which she has worked on include:

 

acting for the InMobi group, the world’s largest mobile advertising network, in respect of a US$200 million investment by Softbank Corp.;

acting for Mitsui & Co Ltd in the acquisition of a 30% stake in Integrated Healthcare Holdings Sdn Bhd via a combination of subscription for new shares and acquisition of shares from Khazanah Nasional Berhad, for an aggregate consideration of RM3.3 billion;

acting for AMB Property Corporation in a joint venture with HIP China Logistics Investments Limited to form AMB China Logistics Venture I, LP to develop, acquire, operate and dispose of logistics properties in China for an aggregate of US$588 million;

acting as Singapore counsel for Hitachi Ltd in the disposal of all of its shares in Viviti Technologies Ltd to Western Digital Corporation for an aggregate of US$4.3 billion;

acting for Biomedical Sciences Investment Fund Pte Ltd in its disposal of shares in ES Cell International Pte Ltd, a stem cell company;

acting for Pala Investments (Luxembourg) II, S.a.r.l. in the acquisition of the iron foundry business and assets of Swanmet Holding Pte. Ltd. and Swanmet Engineering Pte Ltd;

acting in the establishment of and US$500 million investment in The Islamic Bank of Asia Limited, Singapore’s first Islamic full bank; and

acting for Lucasfilm Ltd in its joint venture in Singapore with a consortium for the establishment of Lucasfilm Animation Singapore Pte Ltd, a Singapore company engaged in the production of animated film and television works and video games.

 

Su May graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree. She has been a Partner in Allen & Gledhill LLP since 1995. She has been cited as a leading legal practitioner for life sciences by various legal publications including PLC Which Lawyer? Yearbook and The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers. The Asia Pacific Legal 500 notes Su May for her ‘responsiveness and value-added advice’.
