Christopher Koh is a Partner in Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions. His areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets and corporate advisory work for public companies listed on the SGX-ST.

His transaction experience includes:

 

the disposal of Macquarie Group’s entire interest in about 26 per cent. of the total issued units in Macquarie Prime Real Estate Investment Trust (MP-REIT) and its 50 per cent. interest in the shares of Prime REIT Management Holdings Pte Ltd to YTL Corporation Berhad;

the acquisition of United Test and Assembly Centre Ltd by Global A&T Electronics Ltd by way of a scheme of arrangement under Section 210 of the Companies Act, Chapter 50 of Singapore, and in accordance with the Singapore Code on Take-overs and Mergers;

offerings of regulatory capital securities by Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited and United Overseas Bank Limited respectively;

the establishment of The Islamic Bank of Asia Limited, the first
universal bank incorporated in Singapore dedicated to providing
Islamic financial services;

the reverse takeover of Hup Soon Global Corporation Limited (formerly known as Twinwood Engineering Limited);

the mandatory unconditional cash offer by OUE Realty Pte Ltd for Overseas Union Enterprise Limited;

the voluntary unconditional cash offer by Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited for Great Eastern Holdings Limited;

the acquisition of Foster’s brewing assets in Vietnam by Asia Pacific Breweries Limited (through a wholly-owned subsidiary); and

the disposal of shares in Jaya Holdings Ltd by Sime Darby Berhad (through a wholly-owned subsidiary) to Nautical Offshore Services.

Christopher was seconded to Linklaters, London for six months from September 2003 to March 2004 where he worked on private equity transactions and corporate reorganisations.

Christopher graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LLB (Hons) degree in 1999 and obtained an LLM from Columbia University in 2002, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He was called to the Singapore Bar in 2000 and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Christopher is the co-author of the Singapore chapter of the 2008 and 2009 editions of The International Comparative Legal Guide to M&A (Global Legal Group Ltd) and lectures on takeovers and mergers for the Postgraduate Practical Law Course.
