Bor Jern is a Partner in Financial Services. His area of specialisation is capital markets, including real estate investment trusts.

Recent completed significant transactions which Bor Jern has been involved in include:

 

the initial public offering of CDL Hospitality Trusts, the first stapled group in Singapore, comprising a real estate investment trust and a registered business trust;

almost all the rights issues of Singapore REITs (K-REIT Asia, Fortune Real Estate Investment Trust, Starhill Global Real Estate Investment Trust, CapitaCommercial Trust, CapitaMall Trust, Mapletree Logistics Trust and Allco Commercial Real Estate Investment Trust (as it was then known));

the initial public offerings of Indiabulls Properties Investment Trust, Lippo-Mapletree Indonesia Retail Trust, Saizen Real Estate Investment Trust, MacarthurCook Industrial REIT, CapitaRetail China Trust, First Real Estate Investment Trust, Mapletree Logistics Trust, Frasers Commercial Trust, Starhill Global Real Estate Investment Trust and Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust;

the initial public offering of MacarthurCook Property Securities Fund, a managed investment scheme registered in Australia and listed on Australian Stock Exchange Limited;

the acquisition of Raffles City by CapitaCommercial Trust and CapitaMall Trust through an unlisted special purpose sub-trust;

the secondary offerings of Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust, Mapletree Logistics Trust, CapitaMall Trust, CapitaCommercial Trust, Fortune Real Estate Investment Trust, Ascott Residence Trust, Allco Commercial REIT and CDL Hospitality Trusts; and

the reverse take-over involving China Merchants Holdings (Pacific) Limited, China Merchants Holdings (International) Co Ltd and five toll road assets in the People’s Republic of China.

 

Bor Jern has also advised a number of banks, financial institutions and corporations on fund-raising and other capital markets matters, and legal and regulatory compliance issues.

Bor Jern graduated in 1999 from the National University of Singapore, where he was the chief editor of the law review. Prior to joining Allen & Gledhill in 2004, he was an associate in the Singapore office of a U.S. law firm. Bor Jern was called to the Singapore Bar in 2000.
